Stone Brewing Co., Escondido, CA

We had some guests around yesterday and decided to take them to the wineries in Temecula, CA. After a couple glasses of vino, we got pretty sick of it, and needed some supreme bitterness to cut through the grape drank. Stone Brewery is about 30 miles from downtown San Diego off of the 15. The brewery itself is magnificent. It is fairly new and they have used an earthy theme for the design. There are plenty of granite boulders that provide the perfect nook to enjoy some beers in the sun. They have a full restaurant and two bars, 1 inside and 1 outside. I went to the outside bar where there were about 20 beers on tap. I had three fantastic beers, which I am in the process of reviewing. I didn't eat anything there, but I really wanted to yoink some soft pretzels from our neighbors table. Maybe next time

  1. The food is contemporary badassness. The tenderloin shank with roasted barley is better than sloppy blowies. Word to the wise: the beer float sounds much better than it tastes.
